Question:
Hello, I wanted to know about the Allergy Guided Imagery.
I suffer from several food allergies, including wheat, and I wanted to know if this CD would help in reducing or eliminating food allergies, or is it just for the air borne types?
Thank you,
Leanne
Dear Leanne,
The imagery on the Allergy CDs – both mine and Carol Ginandes’ – is designed to address any and all allergies – stuff you breathe, stuff that touches your skin and stuff you ingest. No matter how your allergies express themselves, they’re all first and foremost about a rambunctious autoimmune response.
But I would never promise you that the imagery will eliminate your food allergies. It certainly can reduce the degree of your reactivity. It can modulate and mediate that over-response. But it’s unlikely to make it go away altogether. So I wouldn’t start munching on those bagels and croissants just yet, because you’re working with the imagery.
And do keep in mind, we all crave that which we are allergic to. I’m not sure why, but it’s true. The more wheat you eat, the more you’ll crave it. Even as it makes you sick. So do try to keep away from it as best you’re able.
You may also want to look into an energy-tapping treatment for allergy called NAETS. It’s an odd-appearing protocol, but it sometimes gets results. Combining imagery with NAETS could be a pretty potent strategy.
