Hello, Health Journeys!
I had been dealing with infertility for almost four years. After the first dismal try (and “failure”, as they like to call it) with IVF, I realized I was going to need help, because the whole process was upsetting, and I wanted to be able to stick it out. I was feeling discouraged, depressed and, in a way, disabled. I began searching the web for books, CDs and videos that could help me cope.
Before beginning the second round of IVF, I purchased your CD, Help for Fertility. I listened to it every night before falling asleep. It brought me a great sense of calmness and hope. I know you could argue with me about this, but I think this relaxing, positive imagery helped me get pregnant. |

This funny, ersatz testimonial came from a witty blog, called Ovulation Adventures: Tackling Infertility while Keeping My Smile, Wits & Hair Intact (An Attempt).
Like a certain percentage of comments we find here and there on the internet (especially Amazon), the writer at first finds my voice pretty weird, but then gets used to it, and maybe even likes it (hard to say). Either way, it does get the job done of putting her to sleep! Read on, it’s funny and engaging! |

My 41 year old daughter is a successful research scientist who took her time finding the right man to marry. Four years ago, she finally found him. They married a few months later and immediately tried to start a family. She could not get pregnant, in spite of the fact that there were no hindrances detected clinically in either one of them.
Sarah is a bit high strung to start with, but this situation created great levels of stress in her and for them as a couple. It was heartbreaking to watch my lovely daughter, who had so much of her life together at last, become a tense, distracted, unhappy person. She has always been a high-energy, productive, happy person. |

Over the past 9 years I’ve been through the mill. I’ve suffered 3 miscarriages, then had 4 years of infertility, and three IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatments. I’ve watched friends and relatives get pregnant, filled with envy, anger, grief and discouragement. My mind filled up with negative, sarcastic, disparaging self-talk.
I knew I needed to do something to combat the negative internal messages. I have some hypnosis training, so I bought a dozen hypnotic and guided imagery CDs, loading them all into my MP3 player so I could check out the tracks and decide what to listen to.
For me, Belleruth’s voice and words stood out immediately as something I could connect to. I hate
it when the narrator tells you to “let go”. It’s very stressful to be
asked NOT to be stressed! But I relaxed when she started by
acknowledging and validating the feelings I did have (“I know there are
times when I become frightened, angry, impatient, jealous or sad, and I
accept what I feel as my inner truth of the moment.”). For me, this was
reassuring and uplifting - to first be allowed to accept the feelings I
have, THEN to let them go. |

We loved reading this blog entry on how this sassy, resourceful woman got pregnant (with twins) after 3 years of struggle. It’s filled with attitude, excellent advice and smart pointers, laced with a nice, realistic dollop of hopefulness. And she used guided imagery! And Monica Morell’s Fertility Yoga! How smart was that?? Here it is, in her own words:

How I Got Pregnant
Okay, perhaps the whole IVF thing is a bit obvious. I subjected myself to an experimental drug study and paid a lot of money to produce four of the cutest embryos I've ever seen. Then I had two of those embryos catapulted into my happily waiting uterus and the rest is history.

Question:
"My niece is having lots of fears about becoming pregnant. Is there one
or any of your cd's that I can obtain for her that may help ease her
mind? She's had a couple of miscarriages, but is physically fine to
get pregnant. She's just got so many scary thoughts about pregnancy,
childbirth and motherhood." |
