Here’s another Surgery success story, from a veteran of many such adventures in the O.R., claiming that guided imagery made all the difference...(Of all the "thank you's" we get, those from surgery patients top the list...) Belleruth,
I don''t have a question, but I do have a very sincere "Thank You!" I am seven weeks post-op from a hysterectomy, and have had one of the fastest recoveries that my doctors have seen.

For two weeks before my surgery, I used the "Guided Imagery for Surgery" CD that I received from my HMO, and I can''t believe what a difference it made... and I''ve had quite a few surgeries in the last few years, including a ruptured appendix!

According to my surgical team, I lost less than half the "normal" amount of blood during the surgery, and had no complications. And for me that''s really unusual, as I am sensitive to everything! I am a 41 year old woman who had severe endometriosis and adhesions. In fact, my surgery was not vaginally assisted, because I was literally so tied up in knots inside, that my surgeon decided to opt for a full abdominal procedure.

With the help of a positive attitude, the knowledge that I was doing the right thing to feel better and your CD, everything went very smoothly (despite the snow storm!). I am now healthier and happier than I remember being in a really long time. I''m back at work full time, walking every evening, and contemplating taking belly dancing lessons!

I''d recommend the surgery CD to anyone facing a surgical procedure. In fact I passed on the CD and your catalogue to my doctor, who I''m sure will share it with other women in my situation. Thanks again for helping to make the whole process much easier. Best of luck -

M. O''G.
