Jane is a great believer in the power of guided imagery, and has been sited giving pointers to friends, family and students, often on chair lift rides.
Jane sees learning to ski as a great way to learn and extrapolate important life lessons. She says, “While many see the sport as ripe for stress and trauma, I see it as a wonderful opportunity
for healing other life stress and trauma, including the uncertainty of learning new physical skills
and changing our minds about our capabilities
“In my 31 years of teaching, I am grateful to have shared in the success of many students –
some healthy, some facing life-threatening diseases, some recovering from psychological traumas, some
even facing their past skiing disasters! “Many of them have been able to imagine transferring their triumphs on the mountain to their everyday lives, and back again.
“The power of imagery in sports performance is well-documented,
but I am more intrigued by the power it has to both remind and inspire people, once they have
accomplished something they were uncertain about - great ski stories are powerful tools for personal
growth. Jane invites us all to please come and enjoy the slopes
